A new generation of living robots, grown entirely from frog skin cells, just did something its predecessors never could: it grew its own nervous system. Reported this year by Tufts and Harvard's Wyss Institute, these "neurobots" self-organized neural tissue that changes how they move, and switched on unexpected gene activity, including genes normally tied to vision.
